Description 1928 Model A ford , hotrod, restore, rat rod, vintage

Here is the history of this chassis...
I bought  it as a fairly complete 28 pickup  2  years ago.
I  pulled the body off and put that onto a rodded  chassis .
This chassis  got  pushed into a corner, never started,  never looked  at until now.............
Here are the best points....
Mint original  running chassis.
Engine purrs  like a kitten and sounds  very strong.
The paint  on the engine   does not look  87 years old  but  does not look recent either, so  take  this as what you will.
It  starts  instantly and revs  up and down  quick almost  like it has a lightened flywheel, it probably hasn't, but  model A/s are usually slow  to rev up and  down because of the heavy flywheel, no  smoke,  no rattles.
The engine oil  is as brand new  and inside the clutch  housing  is like new too, so who knows what  the  history of this engine is..........might be a real score.
Gears and clutch  work  sweet  and brakes  stop  good.
Excellent chassis  with  zero  pitting  and  perfect  wheels, and tyres  you could almost  register ,  but  in reality, you would not as they are  old rubber .
The whole running  chassis/ exhaust muffler/ kingpins /tie rod ends, springs , etc bar the steering box appears  as if it would pass rego as is with minimal work .
If you have a LHD  car  off the boat or a blown  motor, and want  to  put this running chassis  under it and drive, then  this is perfect for you .
Here are  the good points.....
Has steel cowl  which needs  the usual  lower  side patches ,  door pillars are  not too bad,  the tank has seen better days,  it will never be a fuel tank again,  but for a rod  where you cut the    bottoms out   to fit  all the  gear  under  and patch the top  or put a new skin on it, it is OK.
Reasonably good original bonnet .
Original 28  red  steering wheel,  some surface coating  missing on one spoke, but very restorable,  and a good  light switch lever/horn button/rod .
Two front glass  guards with good shape  but  plenty of paint on them to rub smooth.
Two rear  glass guards (which are  30/31  roadster/coupe/pickup style ),  with the  small curve where the valance  fits a slightly different shape.
Easy  job to reshape this small  curve   to fit the  28  valances.
Two good  shape  glass  valances.
Two  good shape glass  doors.
Here are the not  so good  points...
Steel radiator  shell with the lower  side sections cut  out, looks like a previous  attempt at a channel job, no problem if you are doing a commercial  pickup, as it will be painted , but probably   too much  work to repair for rechrome, especially when you can buy  repo  chrome shells  for less than 200  bucks.
Steering column  and box  is just an  old one to make it mobile,  it all works but the steering box will  need  reconditioning, maybe just the sector  shaft needs a bush, there is  play  there.
Radiator is average, good  usable  top and bottom tanks..
The running board brackets have been removed from chassis  to  use on another project, but  4  other brackets  will be included to replace.
All in all, a great start  to a rod  or a restore ...
Recommend  inspection before  bidding.
Can test drive, and drive onto your trailer , but battery  and temporary lawn mower fuel tank  does not go with it.
COD  on pickup from Conjola Park NSW.
Happy bidding, and when you have a model A, life is so  much more fun.
If you want to buy and click paypal, be prepared to add  3%  to  price and wait  45 days for pickup .
Am doing a few swap meets  in feb...
Probably Bathurst  on  1st with round trip thru Sydney and back thru Goulburn..
Definitely  Sydney super swap at  Clarendon, then  down the Hume to Ballarat,  then probably thru Melbourne via the  Princes highway  coast road back home if anyone wants delivery for some fuel money.
Have had a couple of enquiries  for  the  fibreglass  rear  roadster section to fit this body.
Have a local guy who  will mould these panels if needed  to make this a fairly complete  project body wise.
Floppy  sections  (floppy  is  not steeled out ).
rear  quarters
upper deck panel
lower deck panel
Rumble/boot  lid
lower beaver  tail
Can pass on his  ph number  if wanted to genuinely interested people .
Also can mould sill plates  with ford logo  that are made 6 inches longer  than standard for  extended bodies/doors  and simply cut  shorter for standard  doors .
32 style dashboards to fit into a 28 cowl.
28  style dashboards.
Inner roadster/tourer door frames  with curved lower corners  that look a lot more original  than  the usual square  corners when the RHS steel  is  used   for that lower area .
This pic is just an example of rear section available .
the mould was taken from this car
