Description BSA C10L 1954 250cc side valve***genuine barn find***perfect restoration project

Regrettably I'm having to sell my bsa barn find project. This was my first classic british bike and I had plans of restoring it after coming across it by sheer fluke one day and decided to give it a shot as it's complete and too good a project to miss out on, I'm new to classic british bikes but there is a massive following behind them so I new I'd be able to find out all I needed. I'm having to sell the bike now though as I'm moving house and have no storage. The bike is a 1954 BSA C10L 250cc side valve, the bike is complete but I haven't had her running yet as I've only owned for a couple of months and have not had the time. The engine turns over freely, there's no play in headstock bearings or anything for that matter. Please bear in mind this is a project but it is complete and shouldn't take much to get running. The arches and tin covers are all in good straight condition, still has original tin rear number plate, the headlight glass and speedo glass are there and as new, there is no major rust on the bike apart from a couple of patches of SURFACE rust on the outside of the tank, even the inside of the tank is not bad. It has had the cylinder head off at some point recently as the gasket looks brand new. The only things that I know for certain that it needs are ; a new battery, a clutch cable and a spark plug, which have all been ordered and should be here literally in the next day or two and will obviously be included. The first picture is what it looked like when I picked it up, the others are after I gave it a quick wipe down with a rag.
There is no v5 document with it but this shouldn't be hard to obtain and keep original plate as it was registered in St Helens and they still hold information.
To be honest I'm kind of testing the water as I know a project like this is only worth what somebody is willing to pay, but I know what I paid so won't let it go for peanuts, I'd rather keep myself and get it up and running but I'm interested to see what offers come in.
I could possibly deliver for an extra price if agreed before you bid. Thanks
