Description Yamaha 1982 XV750 Cafe Racer

1982 XV750 Cafe Racer. This build is 98% complete - see below for a better description. Engine runs smoothly with the infamous 'box-o-rocks' starter. The inspiration for this build came from Greg Hagemans - Docs Chops.
The subframe on this bike was actually build by Greg in the US and shipped over to me.

Non standard items include:
Genuine Benelli Mojave 360 tank from US (not the rip off cheap version from india)
Docs Chops rear subframe from US
Acewell 2853 Tacho, speedo and clock.
18" XJ650 Rear Wheel and hub.
YZF 600 Rear shock - modified swing arm to suit.
K&N Air and oil filter
Braille Lithium light weight battery - hidden under seat.
Aluminium CNC machined rearsets from Ebay
Aluminium CNC Clipons from Ebay
Aluminium end bar mirrors from Ebay
50mm lowering of forks.
100% complete rewire with easy to follow bare bones wiring diagram.
Paint was done by me in the garage. Not rubbish looking but definitely not professional looking.
Seat cowl was formed by me. Again not rubbish but could have been done better.
Headlight from the UK.
Tail/brake light and blinkers from Ebay Things you need to do; Exhaust system - rear cyclinder is short header pipe only. Currently too loud for the road.
Hook up the rear brake sensor to the brake lever. Brakes and brake light work, the solenoid just needs a connecting wire to the brake lever.
Front forks have new oil but might need some air depending on your ride preference.
Front brake need a complete service. They are very spongy.
Forks boot covers are rotten and need replacing.
Clean paint overspray off most areas The bike as it stands is a completed working mockup and has sat like this for 18 months.
My original idea was to get it to this point then completely pull it down again and have everything professionally painted.
Things for me have changed and regrettably I don't have time to complete it.

The reserve price is set at $6,500.00

Free deliver within 300km of Canberra can be arranged if reserve price is met.

Reviews and comments for Yamaha 1982 XV750 Cafe Racer

Dear Seller,

Since the last update of your offer is almost one year ago, I first kindly like to ask if the bike is still available. I'm basically interested in such a Hageman style cafe racer but couldn't find anything like this here in Australia so far.
In case you still offer this machine, I also like to know if the bike has a rego and what has to be repaired/modified to get one, respectively. I would have to drive it to Melbourne and have no access to transporters which makes a valid rego necessary.

Thanks a lot for your kind consideration.

Best regards
