This very rare and much sought after tax exempt 1975 Yamaha DT250B Enduro has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 9423 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has got a few bits missing, a few bits damaged/broken, a few bits rusty/corroded & a few bits are very nice indeed.
Forks & yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look ok but faded. Carburetor is free sliding off the twist grip. Exhaust is original & solid. Seat base is in good condition throughout. The engine is cosmetically very clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression ……..We did have it running on petrol but in an attempt to clean the points to get it running better we managed to break the points!!! we don’t have any more in stock.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We HAVE
NOT got the Certificate of title but we will provide proof that
the VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1.
You need to
get the bike MOT’d.

2.
You need to
prove the year of manufacture in writing. Phone Yamaha UK customer
services on 01932 358000 with the Model, frame & engine Numbers
for a small fee they will send you a letter confirming the age.

3.
You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on
the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will
charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current
amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you your age related
registration number.
