This very much sought after 1982 BMW R100RT has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. We were lucky enough to buy it off the chap who'd owned it from new.

The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you may or may not know, here at DK Motorcycles we have very little knowledge or experience with these classic German bikes but luckily you aficionados usually put us rite!?. As you can see this bike is complete & remarkably original. Sadly the pannier lids are cracked by the hinges.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........This is the actual bike you are bidding on – Not library pictures from 35 years ago & it is every bit as nice as it looks here.....A true time warp machine!. The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good discs, calipers & working master cylinder. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguards are both solid & are very tidy. Tail light assy is good. Instruments & switches look great. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is usably clean inside and has just minor marks & scratches in the original paint. Seat is in very good condition throughout & hides the original tools, manual & pump. The engine is cosmetically very clean BUT BEST OF ALL when we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel it fires, starts, runs, revs & rides.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

HAVE GOT THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN CERTIFICATE OF TITLE

We will provide proof that VAT & Duty are paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1.
You need to get the bike MOT’d.

2.
You need to prove the year of manufacture. The American Title will do
this.

3.
You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on
the chassis number.

4.
Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will charge you £55 for
the 1st
registration & the current fee for the road tax.

5.
The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
