This 1985 Kawasaki KLR250 has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has a few parts missing – ignition key & mirrors being the most obvious. It has obviously stood a while so the battery is flat, paintwork is rusty, seat cover is perished, master cylinder isn't working.
NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight as are the forks & yokes. Mudguards are both solid. Instruments & switches look great. Carburetor is free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is rusty but solid, fuel tank is squeaky clean inside. Exhaust is original & solid. Shock absorber is damping fine. The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression BUT BEST OF ALL when we bypassed the ignition, hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel from a dummy tank it fires, starts, runs & revs.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

HAVE NOT got the Certificate of Title but we will provide
proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1.
You need to
get the bike MOT’d.

2.
You need to
prove the year of manufacture in writing. Phone Kawasaki UKs customer
services on 01628 856643 with the frame & engine Numbers,

3.
You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on
the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will
charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current
amount for the road tax.

5.
The DVLA
will send
you your
age related registration number.
