This very much sought after 1st edition tax exempt 1972 Suzuki GT750J has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 11698 miles and has been in storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.
We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
We all know what high prices these early kettles are fetching when done....The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the battery, ignition key, tools & grab rail. It has obviously stood a while so the paintwork is faded, tyres & seat cover are perished. Sadly some of the bright chrome is pitted. Instrument case is scuffed.
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight with good hubs & brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip but one of the float bowls is cracked. Paintwork is faded but solid. Exhausts are original & solid. Seat base is in good enough condition to restore. The engine turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression – We have had the bike firing/running on easystart spray so we know it has spark + compression but the fuel system & carbs will need attention......don't fret we didn't run it long.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We HAVE NOT got the
certificate of title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is
paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1. You
need to get the bike MOT’d.

2. You
need to prove the year of manufacture in writing. Phone Suzuki UKs
customer support on 0500 011959 (press opt 2 & opt 2 again) with
the Model type, frame & engine Numbers, they will organize an
application for a dating letter – there is a charge for this
service.

3.
You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on
the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will
charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current
amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you your age related
registration number.
