This very much sought after tax exempt 1976 Honda CB550K has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours.
We have been unable to confirm this mileage reading. Please disregard it.
The single most important purchase for a classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be a commercial venture or just a hobby interest it all starts here!.
PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike has got a few bits missing, a few bits damaged/broken, a few bits rusty/corroded & a few bits are very nice indeed.
The wheels look straight with minor pitting in the chrome rims, good brake plates. Forks & yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments look great. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is usably clean inside. Seat base is in good condition throughout. Chain guard is tidy. The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great & has compression – We have had the bike firing/running on easystart spray but the fuel system & carbs will need attention.

The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

REGISTRATION

1.
You need to
get the bike MOT’d.

2.
You need to
prove the year of manufacture in writing. To get a dating letter -

through what you need to do.

3.
You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on
the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA, who will
charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current
amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you your age related
registration number.
