1949 FL Harley Davidson and Sidecar Gentlemen, Here's your chance to purchase an after world War 11 motorcycle icon. Imported from Oregon with title back to 1996, this bike had one owner until 2011 when it was bought from the actual owner. This FL has gone through a complete nuts and bolts restoration over a period of almost 2 years. This front to back and bottom to top complete overall has been done by renowned Harley Davidson professional mechanics and aesthetical shops that specialized in authenticity as close as possible. You will notice, to mention a few details, the NOS oval windshield, the proper intake manifold, shock tower caps etc. Attention was paid to period external détails. Internal engine was completely gone through with Harley Davidson's only genuine parts as well as transmission, clutch etc. Improvements were done for performance and reliability. Engine was rebuilt at a cost over 15 000$ using an SnS base (certificate of authenticity included) and timing cover. Were installed all new : - Big torque flywheel - High Performance cam, gears, connecting rods - Harley's 60mm pistons - 80 cu in valves - M-74 Carb - Stainless valve cover - Hydraulic lifters and body lifters - High precision rockers - 6 Volts Harley's generator - NOS Original Fuel pump - Etc. Transmission was rebuilt at the cost near 1 500$. New clutch is belt drive. To ease starting, an electric starter was installed. Note that it was not possible to rebuild the original engine block but it was kept in storage and will go with the FL. Same apply to the original mechanical kick starter, cover and other originals parts ready to be reinstalled if wanted. Wheels are new NOS, bearings restored, aligned and balanced with 4 new Coker classic tires. Same applies to side car with the purchase of an original spareand tire. Restoration was done at a cost over 45 000$. All receipts will follow the sale. Note that the side car cab was built using fibreglass material since original ones were found rotten and impossible to restore.
