Description TRIUMPH T120R BONNEVILLE 1970

Up for No Reserve Auction is a classic matching number, low mileage, 1970 Triumph T120R Bonneville. Engine and frame number BD42254 T120R. Mileage: 9748 miles.
Widely acclaimed as 'the best ever' the 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 was not only the high water mark in Triumph 650 development, and the year that most people favor as 'the best Triumph Bonneville ever built', it was also the last year before the dreaded Oil-in-Frame bikes arrived.
Classic bike reviews praise the 1970 model ...
"The 1970 Triumph Bonneville T120 650 probably really is the best one ever built, its certainly one of the prettiest. They run great, they're fast, they handle fantastic and stop well. As classic British motorcycles go, this is just about as good as it gets. "
"The 1970 Triumph Bonneville 650 really is a gorgeous bike, and one of the finest, if not THE finest, Classic British Motorcycle in the world. The Triumph Bonneville certainly would be on a very short list indeed, and as Bonnevilles go, 1970 was probably the best. It's certainly one of the most sought-after today, by collectors & enthusiasts alike. They're not only drop-dead gorgeous machines with loads of history, but they're fast & they handle great, even by today's standards."
" the 650s of the 60s really were the legends, where the street could meet the elite..."

"... a lithe, superb handling bike with a genuine 100mph plus instantly available – and the looks to go with it... the bike became a legend in its own lifetime."

This bike is a classic example of the marque. Here is your opportunity to own one of
these 1970 T120R Triumph Bonnevilles.

This example has been sitting, untouched, in storage for over 20 years. It has received a custom paint job on tank and side panels some time before it went into storage and has custom mufflers. The storage dust has been washed off.
The bike is sold 'as is' as a restoration project. Pictures form part of the description. You need to satisfy yourself with the condition of the bike before bidding. Feedback from our customers suggests that with a couple of hours work on cleaning the fuel system and a new battery, these bikes fire up after a couple of kicks.
The bike was running when stored, still turns
over with compression, but has not recently been started. It is missing some parts. Some vinyl and rubber
components, such as the fork gaiters, tyres, seals etc have started to perish and would need
replacement. There is surface rust on much of the chrome. It would need going over and refurbishment by a qualified Triumph mechanic. The Triumph Bonneville series
shared many parts with other Triumph models of the time, and NOS parts are readily

This is a No Reserve auction. The highest bidder owns the bike. Payment

smells of being an eBay pest / time-waster on these classic bikes will not be
tolerated – you’ve been warned! On-line communication with serious bidders
