Description Moto Guzzi Galletto 192

The Galletto, devised and built by Carlo Guzzi in 1950, represents probably the most successful attempt to combine the strengths of the scooter with those of the classic motorcycle while eliminating their respective weaknesses at the same time. the rider was offered a good degree of protection, a user-friendly machine and a spare wheel along with the kind of performance, comfort and roadholding normally associated with a conventional motorcycle. It was planned to fit a 150 cc 4-stroke engine and a 3-speed gearbox, but it went on sale with a 160 cc engine, uprated to 175 cc and linked to a new 4-speed gearbox at the end of 1952. In 1954, the engine was again uprated, this time to 192 cc, while an electric starter was added in 1961, together with some modifications to the bodywork. The Galletto was painted in Ivory and could be bought with the spare wheel mounted cross-wise behind the front wheel so as to form an efficient bumper, or protected by a specially shaped cover; the difference was 4,000 lire. the last version, with electric starter, was painted grey or, upon request, in Guzzi red. The price remained steady at around 265,000 lire until 1966.
This is a unique chance to acquire an iconic bike of Moto Guzzis long history.
Sold as is, no warranty.
