Description 1986 Yamaha FJ1200

For sale is a 31 year old 1986 Yamaha FJ 1200 with a bit over 16,000 miles. This was in a barn where a beam fell on the fairing, crushing the windshield and instrument cluster. The fairing area was redone and because the engine wasn't running right, I rebuilt the engine as well. All brakes were bled out with new fluids. The hydraulic clutch slave didn't work so, a new slave was put on and lines were bled out. The only things that don't work is the gas gauge and neutral light. The neutral light stays on all the time so, I just pulled the light bulb out. Not sure why the gas gauge doesn't work. The carbs were rebuilt with new kits and synced as well. If anyone knows these old bikes, they'll know the plastic on them was not the greatest. Some pieces are cracked or pieces missing, but overall the bike is very nice. It has the old familiar F1 slip-on mufflers. Included in the sale are the stock mufflers as well. Oh, I didn't put mirrors on it yet. I tried to find replacement mirrors, but the price is out of hand. I'm going to let it up to the buyer on what type of mirrors to put on it. Not all mirrors will work on this model so, I'll leave it up to you. And, the seat has NO rips and is perfect. The following was done to get it to where it is now.
• Rebuilt engine with pistons/rings, gaskets, valve lapping & valve shimming
• Throttle Cable's
• Choke Cable Knob
• Hydraulic Clutch Slave rebuild kit
• Fairing Stay
• Windscreen
• Fuel switch
• ProGrips
• Carb Rebuild kit
• Battery
• K&N Air filter
• Front Tire
• Miscellaneous plastic and other parts
I have the right to end the auction early as it's being sold locally as well.

Please email me if you're interested. I brought this thing back to life instead of parting it out. Enjoy it as it should last another 31 years!
