1969 BSA Lightening 650cc Very Original and Perfectly Running For Sale
Description 1969 BSA Lightening 650cc Very Original and Perfectly Running
This is a no reserve auction. High bidder wins!
I bought this out of an estate sale from the second owner. The bike is very original and in amazing shape for a 48 year old motorcycle. It can be driven just about anywhere right now and needs nothing as it sits.
I am not an expert on these bikes, but I have driven it about 100 miles. The bike kick starts just as it should. When warm, it starts on the first kick. When cold, you tickle/prime each carburetor and it will start up after 5-10 kicks. Headlight, taillight, and signals all work as they should, as does the horn. I do believe the signals were added at some point to be more safe on the road. The speedo needle bounces a bit but does work. There are NO dents to speak of at all. The fenders and tank are in excellent shape. The tank badges are very nice with only some expected wear. Both mufflers on the left and right side are new and the chrome is perfect. The tires were apparently replaced recently as the nobs are still on them and the tread is full. The pictures reflect the bike in its exact condition.
Both carbs and petcocks are in perfect running condition and need nothing. The bike shifts perfectly. Front and rear brakes are good. Clutch is good. The BSA has new fluids and it does not have any leaks...although my garage floor looks otherwise. Those leaks are courtesy of my 1963 Corvair:)
Included with this motorcycle are lots of parts that were given to me. There is an extra cylinder and handlebars. There is also a box of parts that includes two carburetors, 2 speedometers, a volt gauge, the old chrome mufflers, fork tubes, taillight lens, and other stuff. This will all go to the new owner, as well as 3 BSA books. This is a really super machine.
The winning bidder is totally responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due immediately following the auction. The balance is due within 72 hours of the end of the auction, by bank wire or cashier's check. Please do not bid if you have zero or no feedback. If you are new to eBay, message me before bidding. Good luck winning this awesome BSA!
