1968 Ford Fairmont sedan (GT Falcon project) For Sale
Description 1968 Ford Fairmont sedan (GT Falcon project)
The photos tell most of the story. Here for sale is a 1968 XT Fairmont. It was country car from Wee Waa.
It has the original stock 302w/c4/bw. A single barrel carb.
I have replaced the starter, alternator and water pump. It has a XT GT radiator. I also have the original. It has 4-1 extractors. I have the original cast exhaust manifolds. The engine runs well. The auto shifts OK. It has no exhaust.
If has GT 350 mustang front disks and 4 pot calipers. I have the original brakes etc which go with the car.
Originally it was bronze, but someone, somewhere painted it greenish brown on the outside. The door jambs are still bronze. It has the original Palomino Fairmont interior. The car is complete.
It has rust in the usual places, except the expensive ones. The floors, boot floor, plenum, firewall are all very very good. That’s why I bought it. I was not worried too much about the hanging panels. Around the screens are pretty good. The rear bottom LHS side of wind screen has rust.
The LH rear quarter at the top along the boot lid is rusy. It would need a replacement lip made. The boot has rust right in the centre (about 5mm round). I have another boot lid which is in very good condition. Looking at the door gaps etc I would say that all of the panels are original. The chrome trim is pretty good.
The rear bumper has had a whack and pushed the bottom beaver lip in the little, not too big a repair. The right hand front torque box needs a rust repair. I have another rear bumper.
I also have some driving lights for it.
It’s no show car, but it has great bones for a resto Fairmont and GT replica.
I have adverstised it elsewhere so it may be sold earlier. Please contact me by email through Ebay and I will provide you wth my phone number and I will gladly answer your questions. it can be inspected at Hurstville and after about 5.00pm most days and during the day on the weekends.
I originally bought it as a project, but I have since bought another project and it is keeping me busy. This is a really good car for a project. Please be reasonable with offers.
If you are going to bid be prepared to buy, no more I clicked the wrong button excuses.
