Description 1978 Suzuki GS750EC - Excellent Condition

For sale is a 1978 Suzuki GS750EC.  This model is considered by many to be the best of the UJM bikes.  Their handling far surpassed their rivals, and the engines are powerful and bulletproof, modeled very closely after Kawasaki's Z-engines, with several interchangeable parts.  This is a very usable bike, even today.  In fact, I ride it regularly, including on So. Cal Freeways, where it has given me no problems in traffic.
The previous owner restored this bike in what he stated was a “frame off restoration”. There were a few items that I found that were not correct, so I have remedied those.
The bike looks fantastic and runs exceptionally well.
The following work has been done:

    Frame and bodywork repainted.
Carburetors sent for specialist rebuilding with all new parts and tuned perfectly.
K&N Pod Air Filters (OEM air-box will go with the bike also)
New brake lines (front) and pads.
Discs turned and vented by Truedisk LLC.
    New chain.
    New seat.
New Shorai lithium battery (Shorai LFX14L5-BS12) and charger.
    Solid-state Regulator/Rectifier (Electrosport ESR090)
    New tires.
    New speedometer and tachometer cables.
    New clutch cable.
    New front fender.
NOS gear-position display (the gear indicator works properly; often these are a problem).
    New 'All-Balls Racing' tapered-roller steering bearings (p/n 22-1005 )
The only problem that I know of is that the speedometer needle vibrates at high speed, above about 85 mph.
Cosmetically, the bike is very nice.  The chrome on the exhaust is decent for its age. The paint is in excellent shape.  There is one small nick in the stripe on the right side of the tank.
In 1980 Cycle Magazine stated: "The Suzuki 750 four-stroke was a brilliant motorcycle when it was introduced in the fall of 1976; it still is ...... In either form, standard or EC, the GS750 is still the best 750 motorcycle you can buy."
"Classic-japanese-bikes dot com" wrote this about this model:
“Just try to find a Suzuki GS in decent shape these days that anyone wants to sell! They've become few and far between on the market and for good all-round reason.
“If you can get your hands on a good runner, buy it! Then you can go to town modding it or go after the Holy Grail of box-stock perfection.
“A very sweet classic Japanese bike indeed!”

    Overall Width: 34.3 in.
    Overall Height: 46.1 in
    Wheelbase: 58.7 in
    Ground Clearance: 5.9 in

The bike has a clear California title in my name, so there will be no problem registering it in your state, or exporting it if you are from overseas.
The usual disclaimers apply:  Deposit required within 48 hrs, or I will cancel the bid and relist the bike.  Full payment, either cash-in-hand, or a cashiers check, must be made within 7 days.  The check will have to clear before I will release the bike.  Yes, that goes for a cashier's check - they can be faked.  Shipping is entirely the buyer’s responsibility and at the buyer’s expense.
