Description 1982 Suzuki GS1100E

This is a very very clean 1982 Suzuki GS1100E. The bike was restored by John Wilson the GS guru at Akron GS Works. I got this bike and the other (see other listing) GS1100E from John a while ago.

The aftermarket add-ons are very minimal and add to the bike tremendously. John added the filters, jetted the carbs, and added the aftermarket pipe and tuned the bike to perfection. It runs clean to red-line and will pull the front wheel off the ground without trouble!  The entire bike was gone thru and the fluid are all fresh, brakes are new and bike looks and rides like new without issue. Starts right up and settles into an easy idle after 20 seconds of handlebar choke lever. It is a no-story bike, the gas tank is clean and not corroded.

Two things are not perfect on the bike.

1. I noticed that one of the five light bulbs on the cluster is burned out. It the bulb on the fuel gauge pod.

2. The helmet locks are stuck open and don't click locked. It may just be that they need lube, I don't know, but they are seen in the pics left open.

3. When John replaced the decal on the gas tank it looks to a careful eye that the decal was slightly off. It is the RIGHT side tank logo that says SUZUKI and it is the Z that looks a bit off.  I mention it because Im a perfectionist, but I rode the bike for months before noticing it. very subtle.

Everything else on the bike works as new.  I would give this bike a solid 9 out of 10. It is a great bike that you can ride right now cross country and back.

NOTE:  I collect and play with tons of vintage bikes for a HOBBY. Inevitably, I sell some. Of the 8-10 bikes I've sold, my reputation is impeccable. Recently I learned a tough lesson in that I sold my prized 4k mile GSXR1100 to a guy out west for $9,900. The bike was shown and described perfectly and was an amazing 4K mile original survivor. I spent $3500 getting the bike from a barn find to a running pristine bike, all work was related to sitting for 25 years, not restoration needed, just mechanicals, tires, ss lines etc.  The bike was awesome! When he got the bike he demanded $2000 because of things that he claimed were not shown. He was looking for a brand-new museum bike, not a 30 year old bike that had 4k miles on it and was a 99 out of 100. I offered to refund his money in full but he demanded that I pay his shipping there and back (about $1500). He left negative feedback.  The only one I've ever gotten. The killer thing is that my local bike shop, who had done all the maintenance on the bike, wanted to buy it when he learned I had listed it on ebay, but I told him I had to honor the auction. I made the mistake of giving him good feedback when he paid (with a personal check and a week late). After I left feedback he was a jerk. When I ddnt pay him his blackmail, he slimed me with negative feedback. By the way, he kept the bike so he wasn't that upset!  I have no way or redressing his negative feedback so I decided to attach this note to any bike I sell going forward.

Sooo, after having been burned by a dishonest buyer, I am adding this caveat. "This bike is sold as is and where is. The photos accurately show the true and authentic condition of the bike. The bike is available to be seen at Adrenaline Cycle 2555 Gar Hwy, Swansea, MA 02777 508-379-0100.   The bike is in their showroom for the winter with the other GS I am selling. Justin runs the shop there and can show you the bike in person.
