Description kawasaki f8 project bike, 1971 rotary disc valve 250.

Kawasaki 1971 f8 bison project bike. Single cylinder 2/stroke, rotary disc valve induction. 250 cc.
The owner bought this bike to do up for post classic road racing, then decided to fix it up as a road bike.
The motor was stripped down by a retired bike mechanic and rebuilt. The big end was in good condition., so he fitted new main bearing, crank seals, and o rings. plus the crankshaft oil pump drive pinion.
Gearbox was in very good condition, replaced case seals and gasket.
Fitted new 20 thou o/s piston kit and honed bore.
Carbie is the original light body mikuni. It has been cleaned and a new manifold mounting rubber fitted to the case, new case rubber boot and mounting plate, plus new seal for main jet chamber.
There is a new set of points for the flywheel magneto.
New rear shock absorbers.
New dunlop rear road tyre.
Equipment wise, bike is pretty original. Front forks have blistering of the chrome, but not on the seal travel area. They are the proper hatta type front forks. New seals were fitted.
NOTE...... there is no front wheel, and steering stop has been removed or broken ( see pic ) It would be a pretty easy thing to repair though.
A 350 head and barrel off a kawasaki bighorn will bolt straight onto this motor if you can get your hands on one.
This bike has a lot of potential as a post classic road racer, a cafe racer, a vmx, or just a reliable road bike.
It has no wiring for lights intact, just a single wire for the coil, but the wires are still there at the magneto.
Exhaust system has been decoked, heat shield had to be ground off, due to the fact it was spot welded on.
Payment to be made within 3 days of close of sale. pick up only.
