Description MGB GT

Reluctantly for sale is my black 1977 MGB GT.

I have owned this beautiful car for a couple of years now. In these two years I have been carrying out a rolling restoration. I find myself at a crossroads and may part ways with it (will sell if reserve is met).

Where to begin. A full engine rebuild has been carried out ending in August 2016 with the following parts replaced including: Oil pump, PRV, Duplex chain, big end bearings, main end bearings, pistons, rings, gudgeon pins, valves, bronze valve inserts, head machined and skimmed. Clutch, full stainless steel exhaust. All ancillaries, other parts where inspected for wear and deemed in good condition. Crank is good, gearbox good, camshaft also good. Additionally included but not fitted with engine: electronic distributor, rocker shaft. The work was done by myself and a friend (an HGV/PSV engine re-builder)
Fitted with rare 1976 Appliance wheels made in Japan for the US market. Also have fifth spare. Rostyles can be sold with the car. I have five with tyres and four without. All included. Various parts included such as spare chrome trim and brand new headlights.
New dics, pads, stainless steel backplates fitted. Front braided hoses (not fitted)
Battery fitted last year
Red seatbelts fitted
Re-tetro sealed Feb 16
Water pump fitted Feb 16
Steering wheel changed Aug 15 (still have original)
Steering rack changed (Aug 15)
O/S front wheel bearing (Aug 15)
Vinyl seats replaced (Aug 15)
Carbs replaced (Aug 15) These are HIFs but do not appear to be MGB carbs. Although still work fine with new needle valve and seals fitted
3/4 Anti roll bar fitted (Aug 15)
Drop links fitted (Aug 15)
Front CB Springs fitted (Aug 15)
Rear Springs with lowering blocks and poly bushes fitted (Aug 15). Also has spax shocks fitted by previous owner
Front indicators lenses changed (July 15)
Numberplate backing and lights replaced (July 15)
Overdrive filter replaced Feb 15
Dizzy replaced Feb 15
Starter motor replaced Feb 15
And a lot more work to keep this car running whilst slowly bringing her back to her best.
I have bills for all work carried out.
Underseal has been applied and touched up frequently throughout my ownership. The car is very solid underneath.

Bad points:

Needs minor tweaks to fuel/air to get her running perfect. Can be a tad reluctant to start.
There is a drain on the battery somewhere and possibly a related ignition barrel problem when the car trys to restart it's self when turning off the engine.
A clonk is coming from the diff when cornering. Hoping it's just thrust washers
Paint in places could do with some work. Such a shame because overall the body is great.
Bump stops need replacing. Rear window heater doesn't work and interior heater isn't the greatest.

I'm not prepared to sell this if I don't get a good price. I'll just keep it and work my way through the last of the jobs. But it would be nice to start on a new project.

Can send more photos of stages on the rebuild and present body defects.
I will try to add more info as I remember because of the amount of work I done to this over the years. I have documented work into a folder. I also have some history from previous owner.
