Description 1980 BMW 528i Sedan
This has been a daily driver for the past 12 years. I stopped driving it regularly a couple of years ago and when I went to start it had intermittent starting issues. In the past 6 months, the coil, in-tank pump, and ICM + ballast resistor were replaced + coil wire. We got it running again, and then had the same no-start issue occur again. I've run out of time to fix and need to store another vehicle where it's parked.
These are really cool BMW's - classic look, real bumpers, great road feel and handling, cheap parts, easy to work on, and strong enthusiast community to boot. Also a great platform to upgrade suspension and/or drop in a 3.5 liter or V-8. Possible Restoration candidate.
I have quite a bit of documentation on the vehicle and a bin of spare parts.
* Clutch and clutch cylinder were replaced around 2010
* Previous owner upgraded the front seats to D&W Recaros - very grippy!
* Custom MOMO steering wheel
* I swapped the intake manifold runners to boost low-end torque
* Rear deck was swapped for a reupholstered '85 528 deck with newer speakers
* Headlights upgraded to Cibie Hella H4 55/60w
* Turn signal actuator switch and cable replaced with NOS part in 2011
* Suspension and bushings need check-up due to time vehicle has been sitting

Tach and Speedo were disconnected during efforts to diagnose starting issue. Odometer is not working (gear issue). The car turns over, but is not starting.
