(1954)William Turnbull Slack (Bill) was the engineer at Caffyns Jaguar Dealership in East Sussex in the late 1950's and into the 1960's. He assisted Colonel Rixon Bucknall with the famous Rixon Bucknall Special. On occasions he accompanied Colonel Bucknall on his European tours. During this period at the dealership Bill set about building a 1954 Jaguar into a 2 seater roadster for touring and competition...... .The body was custom built to a very high standard in aluminium, riveted on a steel frame and the bulkhead is also steel. After William Slacks death the car was purchased by the second owner and put into storage for 7 years, regularly started and kept in dry storage. It was then sold to Michael Hughes who had The car meticulously re-commissioned to include the following; all fluids and filters renewed and greasing carried out; braking system completely overhauled; carburettors and choke; fuel system; electric system re-wired; new voltage regulator, full engine service,plugs, leads, cap etc. New Avon Turbo Speed tyres were also fitted. Original 3.4 Xk Jaguar Powerplant. All Original Jaguar running gear. Very smooth and runs beautifully. No expense has been spared keeping this car in top condition. All receipts present. Cosmetically the mud guards, radiator cowl, petrol tank, boot lid and wheels were taken back to bare metal and repainted in Jaguar Gunmetal. The rest of the body is polished aluminium.
