Austin-Healey 3000 Mk 1 BT 7 Convertible UK / RHD 1960 / Hard Top / Mint & Exceptional!
£51,995 (Winter Price!) Built on 15th August 1960 this UK RHD home market vehicle shows only 3 previous owners on the V5C with the current active club member purchasing this magnificent vehicle on 19th August 2006, were it has resided in Merrow, Guildford. The previous gentlemen owner resided in Shorne & purchased in it 1988. In fact continuous ownership is known, as the vehicle also comes with the original buff log book & green registration book.  This splendid vehicle is a former National Healy Concours d’elegance 1st class winner & we have just completed a full & though professional engine out repaint of the complete vehicle to show standard, so the new keeper can once again enter this vehicle in competition!
Make no mistake, this is a sound, proper, honest Healey, with good history & has come from good stock. We are also very proud of the work we have undertaken in house which has cost in excess of £16,350 at trade rates. This impressive vehicle is a BT 7 model and thus has occasional rear seats fitted, its trimmed with the original red leather interior piped white with black carpet set, excellent black hood, hood cover, black tonneau & lovely side screens. The fresh paintwork is finished in the original shade of AH Colorado red with Old English white lower panels & a matching hard top that accompanies the vehicle. The vehicle comes complete with a most excellent history file containing, V5C, previous V5C’s, Original  buff log book, original green registration book,  HPI report (Clear), Fresh current MOT, 16 previous MOT’s dating back to 1996, Beaulieu National Motor Museum International Healey Concours D’Elegance 1st Class Certificate with 133 points, (Dated 1983), AH Club Ltd registration sheet, Over 50+ service, parts & maintenance invoices dating back to 1998, Literature with owners notes for parts fitted over the years, Previous owners details, Past valuations & report dated 1997 & 99,  AH club membership details & confirmation letters for 2012, 10, 09, 07, 06, AH club sticker & club in action details, etc, Photographs at various stages of the cars life to date  1996 , 99 & 2006 with previous owners, Copious detailed photos of current refresh showing, before, during & after, Drivers handbook & AH workshop manual along with SC parts book … Orchard Restorations conducted a full mechanical package of works on 8th June 2001 which included a new full clutch, brake master cylinder, slave cylinder, brake shoes, callipers, etc & the vehicle has been maintained & upgraded by the current enthusiast owner whom has in brief did: Speedo & cable rebuilt on 19th May 07 along with a full gearbox rebuild @ £1,169.32 & further the prop shaft at £97.00+VAT, poly bushed the vehicle by Rawles 27th Sept 08, new rear springs fitted, 20th April 08, Alloy sump fitted Aug 08, SU Carbs rebuilt & new needle fitted in Nov 08, Alloy sump fitted 1st Aug 08, New rad hoses, water pump & thermostat fitted 2nd May 09, Kenlow fan fitted Jan 09, Polarity changed from neg earth in April 10, New everflex tonneau fitted on 15th April 10, Rally mesh grille fitted 24th April 10 (The original accompanies the vehicle), Steering box refurbished @ £1,182.41 on 17th Jan 2011, fitted a new oil cooler on 31st Jan 11, fitted up rated rear shock absorbers 11th Feb 11, Fitted telescopic front suspension kit on 11th Feb 11… We have now just undertaken a full & thorough professional repaint of the complete vehicle to concours standard using PPG paint which I have just also used on my own Pagoda, long with the complete engine & engine bay. We have adjusted & realigned all opening panels to better than original factory standards. We have taken the car back to bare metal where required & finished the vehicle in the original shade of Colorado red (Code 3742) & Old English White (Code 2379), including the matching hard top. Whilst the engine was out of the vehicle, we have conducted a compression test, stripped the engine, flushing through as required along with replacing all gaskets etc, we then repainted the engine bay & engine to the correct specification before refitting back in the vehicle & fully testing.  We have also fully cleaned & checked the undercarriage which again was found to be in excellent unmolested condition, So we have treated it & painted it with Wurth spray gun applied underseal to keep it in this condition for another 57 years, we have given the vehicle a comprehensive service including new premium coil, HT leads, plugs, oils & all filters, tune & multi point check with a 2 hour test drive – I just could not resist using it when the winter sun came out! We have had all the chrome work rechromed to show standards, fitted new bumper over riders & gaskets, new supporting bars & rubbers, new chrome wing top trims, fitted new tonneau clips, an original spec full boot lining kit, new Bosch battery, new washer bottle & holder, new washer vacume pump, new cigarette lighter, new front headlamp rims, wiper blades, fitted new number plates, key ring etc, had the red leather interior recolonised, as it is showing a lovely amount of patina, we felt it far to good to replace! This is one of the most original well preserved 3000Mk 1’s that we have had the pleasure of working on, the vehicle seems totally unmolested & has been a pleasure to work on, with no hidden past horrors to correct. We have naturally taken copious pictures of the vehicle before work commenced & at every stage during the process, so the new owner can see exactly what they are getting. These images have been colour printed & placed in sleeves within the history file. This vehicle has also had a detailed forensic valet including the freshly painted engine bay, it’s on the button, looks absolutely stunning and will not disappoint! The vehicle was expertly assessed & valued in 1997 @ £22K with report good structure & condition & updated by the same engineer for the owner on 5th March 1999 when it was revalued at £23,500. Fresh MOT with NO advisories. Historic (Free) Road Tax. The vehicle has excellent MWS chrome wire wheels shod with excellent matching tyres & comes with a correct period jack & rawhide wooden mallet for those chrome spinners. A matching chrome MWS wire spare wheel & as new tyre also accompany the vehicle. Original wood rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fitted. Fire extinguisher supplied along with some spare parts. Seat belts fitted by Rawles. 2No. sets of keys are present with AH key rings. Black hood, black tonneau cover & freshly repainted grey frame & excellent side screens supplied by Rawles. The vehicle comes complete with a very rare hard top, freshly finished in OEW, which cost over £2,200+VAT in 2006 from SC Parts complete with all mouldings & rubbers etc. The vehicle is on the button and ready for those European tours or classic car shows. It is by far the quickest & best driving 3000 Mk1 we have ever had the pleasure in offering and I would be extremely proud to own this vehicle, in fact when we had completed our works & had it up on our ramps for its final  inspection it looked as good underneath as it does on top… More photos available upon request, PX always considered.
