Description 1935 Rover 10

One of Australia’s two
fully registered pre-war Rovers is for sale.

BOP 618 has been fully
restored and is on full NSW registration, which requires her to pass annual
roadworthy inspections.  Registration
expires May 2017.

Powered by a fully
worked 12 hp Rover engine (a common "upgrade" for these cars), BOP is well able
to keep up with modern traffic and is the ideal around-town car, which was her
design purpose.

Her engine has been
fully rebuilt and internally improved.  This
is reflected in her performance.

BOP is otherwise
completely (and some would say frighteningly) original.  She has trafficators, not indicators.  No seat belts, a simple interior and a fully
integrated airconditioning system operated from the dashboard by opening the
windscreen and the sunroof.

Her gearbox and drive
train, steering linkages, brakes and electricals are fully operational.  The “freewheeling” function operates
perfectly and the brakes are efficient.  Some
time in her past, the original “drip feed” Luvax chassis lubrication was
replaced by a myriad of grease nipples.
If you are the successful purchaser I strongly recommend the purchase of
an compressed air-powered grease gun.

She is capable of 100kph,
but it is not at all recommended that this is a touring option.  She is comfortable at 70-80 kph.

BOP is a regular
“second car” and her reliability and ease of driving makes her a pleasurable
mode of transport.  While she is not a
concourse winner, she is certainly a reliable, attractive and highly desirable
machine.

She comes with a large
quantity of spares, including, but not limited to four spare wheels, spare
gearbox, springs, brake rods, rear luggage rack, dash board, two radiator
grilles, running board mats, window glasses, window winding assemblies, bonnet
hinge, gear stick and remote, brake drums and a starter motor as well as filing
drawer full of technical information, books and manuals.

I have owned BOP since
1998 and she is reluctantly being sold as I have bought a 1095 Yacht.
