Had a full refurbishment a few years ago, and this inlcuded  the MG Metro engine, new panels/sills/subframes, full
re-spray, new bushes and bearings.
All the work was completed by the previous owner and there is a folder full of receipts etc for all the work done.
It passed the MOT fine, with the only advisories being :
Nearside stop lamp slightly discoloured. Offside rear fog lamp slightly discoloured. Steering system has slight free play detected at steering wheel.
Bodywork is in good condition, with rust starting to come through in the usual places, as can be seen in the photos.
Due to other projects, the Mini has been not been driven for a few months. It still starts and runs fine, but could probably do with another good tune up to get the most out of the engine. It's currently setup more for high speed than lower end, and is a bit lumpy until it's warmed up - and then it's lots of fun :)
It does have a couple of little quirks. For some reason the previous owner fitted a cut down fan. The mini can get quite hot ( but has never overheated ), and i imagine replacing the fan would most probably help in this area. When turning the engine off, it can run on for a few seconds. I was told by Peter Baldwin ( it was tuned by him on his rolling road earlier in the year ) that this is due to how the fan is wired - when running it can send current back which causes the over run. Apparantly a fairly common issue ). And occasionally when driving you will get what sounds like a backfire. This doesn't affect drive, speed or performance, and i imagine would be sorted by a service / tune up.
Any questions please ask. Cash on collection please, and collection within 7 days of auction end. Car is sold as seen, and please remember you bid to buy.
Exterior photos were taken at the Kimblton classic car show this year.
