Bond Bug - complete restoration For Sale

Here I have for sale my great little
bond bug.

It has had a
complete restoration with everything new or refurbished.

In my opinion it has got to be one of the best around. If you’re
looking for a Bug and want to spend money on the right one with all the work
done and a lot of things replaced then this could be the one.

I bought it in December 2012 and spent over a year restoring
it. Since then I have covered only 700 miles in it so it is still just getting
run in. Why am I selling? Main reason is I get my enjoyment from restoring cars
and have restored quite a few in the past, mainly Triumphs and won a few
trophies so I do know a bit about restoring cars. I am also running out of room
as I have other projects on the go.  I am
not a dealer and I do this as a hobby. I have had some great fun in this car
and it gets attention where ever it goes. Out of all the cars I have owned this
one gets the most attention so get ready...

Here is a brief list of things done but it is brief.

Chassis – Original bug chassis – not converted rialto. Sand blasted,
repaired, etch primed and finished in black gloss 2 pack paint.

Suspension – New coil over shocks, standard front and Hagon’s
on the rear. New rear trailing arms, rebushed. Front new king pin kit, steering
rod, refurbished steering box. New wheel bearings.

Brakes – all new, pistons, shoes, wheel bearings, copper
brake lines, brake hoses. Master cylinder.

Rear axle – fully rebuilt with brand new unused differential
and all seals replaced.

Engine – total rebuild, pistons, liners, bearings, cam followers,
polished cam and crank, head skimmed and pressure tested, new timing chain kit,
water pump, hoses, new radiator, electronic points, alternator conversion, new
starter motor. New clutch kit.

Gearbox – Disassembled and rebuilt with new seals. All internals
looked ok.

Wiring loom – repaired and re taped up, new ends where
needed.

New fuel tank, sender unit and fuel lines.

Lights – front with Halogen head lights and rear are new so
are front indicators

Body – All areas repaired where needed.  I replaced all hinge plates as these had
rusted making a mess of the body as they do. Canopy has new steel tube replaced
on both sides the full length.  Excellent
gaps between canopy and body. New  hinges.
 After getting the body repairs I spent a
cool £2200 to get it painted and it looks fantastic, this is in the correct
colour of tangerine. New decal kit.

Wheels – refurbished front, back are new so are all the
tyres including the spare.

It has new doors but I don’t have them on as it’s better to
drive without them.

The only time the car has got wet is when I wash it!

There is loads more that has been done but the best thing to
do is get in touch if you are interested with any questions or come and have a
look.  But No test drivers, they do take a bit of getting used to so sorry but I
will take you for a drive as long as it isn’t raining.

Price £9950. This really belongs in a museum as only just
over 2000 were made.

I have sold other cars on ebay so am aware of the scams so don’t
bother.
