Description Harley-Davidson Panhead Chopper/Bobber that is new from the ground up.

1955 Harley-Davidson Panhead Chopper/Bobber is in mint condition. I have put less than 200 miles on it since I had it built. This bike is totally brand new, with the exception of the motor (rebuilt with now less than 2000 miles on it), the transmission (rebuilt with Andrews gears), and the generator (rebuilt with new brushes, bushings, etc.). The seat wasn't new but was recovered to look new. Everything else is NEW Harley reproduction products from various dealers, including Paughco, V-Twin, Drag Specialties, Custom Chrome, and J &P Cycles which includes all these brands. The tires are AVON Speedmasters (21 in. front and 16 in. rear). The paint is Celestial Blue Pearl with white ghost flames that I airbrushed on the tank.
The reason the engine has some more miles on it than a fresh rebuild, is that I bought this bike from a guy who had the engine rebuilt and only put about 1500 miles on it before he sold it to me. I have the name and phone number of the mechanic who rebuilt the motor (he's a mechanic with an east coast Harley-Davidson dealership), which I will give out to the serious buyer. I completely stripped the bike, keeping only the engine and tranny (plus generator) and proceeded to build the bike of my dreams, a chop that closely resembles Peter Fonda's bike in the movie "The Wild Angels" (1966-Amazon has it on DVD), three years before "Easy Rider" was released. I laid eyes on Fonda's bike in that movie when I was 18, and mister, it was love at first sight. I've been hooked on Harleys ever since, and owned a few choppers in my day, but always wanted to build that bike in the movie. This bike is the result of that movie and my dream bike after all these years.
My scoot has the following features (Everything brand NEW):
 1. Harley copy stock length chrome springer front end (expensive-Netherlands made from V-Twin), with front brake hub and axle.
 2. 21 inch chrome front wheel with 5 star hub and stainless steel spokes.
 3. 16 inch chrome rear wheel with 5 star hub and stainless steel spokes.
 4. S&S E shorty carburator and manifold. New battery and chrome battery box.
 5. Flanders type 4 in. dogbone risers with rubber bushings.
 6. Wide handlebars with an 8 1/2 inch rise.
 7. Bates style hand levers-clutch and brake (not the cheapo ones). Mousetrap eliminator cable.
 8. Bates style headlight.
 9. 3 1/2 Gal. gas tank with new scalloped gas caps and chrome tank cover.
10. Chrome original style dash with 60's style tombstone speedometer.
11. Original 50's style V-Twin frame with paperwork. The bike is registered in MA as a 1955 Harley-Davidson (not special construction).
12. Flat rear fender with rolled edge.
13. All new brake hubs front and rear with all new brake shoes.
14. The seat is a 14 in. high king/queen LePera seat from the 60's but recovered in black tuck and roll material.
15. The sissy bar is approx. 34 inches high. The back of the seat bolts to it and to the fender.
16. The primary drive system is a PRIMO belt drive (1 1/2 in. belt, so you can use the inner and outer primary covers).
17. Both chrome inner and outer primary.
18. Cadillac rear taillight lens and license plate bracket (side mount).
19. Small leather pouch for your registration and small stuff. (not shown in photos, but included)
20. The kickstarter has all new gears and cover plus new kick start lever and pedal.
21. Tsubaki drive chain.
22. All new forward controls (shift and brake, with kickstand).
23. Oil tank with side fill and tank mounting plate.
24. 30 inch Fishtail pipes and header pipes.
25. Original style wiring harness.

I think that about covers it, but there's alot more that I didn't mention like all new electrics, brackets, clamps, nuts and bolts, etc. The pictures should tell the story also. If you have any questions, you can call me (Barry) at 978-249-7571. Thanks for your interest in my beautiful pan. I absolutely hate to sell her, but I'm 68 years old and 'cuz she's a rigid, I don't ride her much because of back issues. She starts up with a couple of kicks, and runs real strong with great compression. I have two other Harleys to ride, and I need the money right now. Oh, by the way, the green chopped Harley is what the bike looked like before I totally stripped it. And the cool ol' dude sitting on my bike is my mechanic/builder who did most of the build. Thanks for your interest, hit me with your best bid, and good luck bidding on her.
