Description 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass

1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass ‘S’, two-door coupe, California Black Plate car with 23k original, documented miles.  This is a two owner car that has undergone a complete frame-off restoration.  The car was purchased new in California and rarely driven by the first owner.  The second owner purchased the car from his neighbor 35 years later in 2003 and it sat under a California carport until 2012.  The car has never seen snow or salt and has always been 100% rust-free.  It has never been crashed or wrecked.
The car retains all of its original sheet metal and had zero rust before being restored.  The car has been completely stripped to bare metal, including all jambs and inside of all body panels.  All molding and emblem holes were welded-up, as well as the front fender mounted antenna, for a cleaner look.  The new windshield has an internal radio antenna.  Both the front and rear dash areas were re-painted the original Scarlet Red, while the glass was out.  The car was then painted Gloss Black, using a urethane epoxy primer, two-stage base coat / clear coat urethane paint, then wet-sanded and buffed for a high luster finish.
The bucket seat, console shift interior is 100% original and nothing has been changed or restored.  The car has a factory tilt steering column and original AM radio.  An Autometer in-dash tachometer has been installed in the clock delete pod.  The body was removed from the frame and all of the body-mount rubber bushings and bolts were replaced.  The frame was painted satin black and the underside of the body was also painted satin black.  Inside of the trunk remains original and untouched.  The radiator core support was also rust-free; it was blasted and powder-coated satin black and it even has the original rust-free battery tray.  Both front and rear bumpers were re-chromed by Tri-City Plating of Tennessee.  Both pot metal vent window posts were re-chromed by R&D Finishing of Tennessee.  All of the rubber bumpers and weather-stripping have been replaced with Metro SoffSeal.
The engine is a rebuilt 455c.i. with ‘E’ heads and Edelbrock Performer Package, including: camshaft, lifters, double roller timing chain, aluminum intake manifold, 750cfm carburetor and a G.M. HEI distributor.  The transmission is a rebuilt Turbo 350, 3-speed automatic with a new torque convertor.  The rear differential was re-sealed and has its original 2.73 (highway) ratio gears.  A rebuilt high torque G.M. starter motor and a 105 Amp one-wire alternator were added.  The custom-made dual exhaust system consists of 1 ¾” tube Hooker Headers with Dynomax Super Turbo Mufflers and 2 ½” aluminized pipe.  The wheels are original Olds Super Stock I Rally Wheels with Goodyear Eagle ST 225/70R/14 Radial Tires.
The car has factory power front disc brakes with rebuilt calipers, new rear brake cylinders and a new master cylinder and power booster.  All (4) ball joints and front end parts were replaced with Moog components.  All upper & lower control arm bushings were upgraded to PST Polygraphite.  New Moog stock ride height front and rear coil springs were added with (4) KYB gas shock absorbers.  The fuel and brake lines were replaced, along with the fuel tank sending unit.  The air conditioning system was re-sealed, converted from R12 to R134a and blows ice cold.  The car runs, drives, stops and handles awesome.  The buyer will not be disappointed with this car.  For any additional information, questions or to schedule an in-person inspection of the car, please call 978-360-9898.  Thank you for your interest.
