1975 BMW R90/6, classic airhead in purple! new tires, serviced, luggage, 61k?

Bought as a non-runner at an estate sale but it was plated and running in spring 2015.

Would make a great commuter. The purple has resulted in a "Barney" nickname for the bike :-)

Mileage is a minimum as odometer has been intermittent since I've been working on the bike.

Here are way more pics than Ebay will allow me (and higher resolution):

Video so you can hear it run !

1975 BMW R90/6 airhead / boxer twin

stock bike except for Brown sidestand and bar-end mirrors

I also think it may also have upgraded charging system

aftermarket (but still German) bar end switches, including euro headlight switch

pair of Krauser bags in good serviceable shape, with mounting brackets

Krauser rear luggage rack

stock seat (recovered) and nice Daylong (or Mayer?) touring seat

color matched full R100RT fairing in ok shape (has been on the bike in past)

K&N air filter

friction-style throttle lock

OEM tire pump still on frame rail

has one folding key

new period-correct Dunlop tires and tubes installed

fuel tank was flushed (has been sealed in past, no evidence of past leak...precautionary?)

oil and filter changed, trans oil changed, final drive oil changed, brake fluid swapped

K&N air filter refreshed

new spark plugs

bulbs replaced in gauges, installed new neutral switch

grips trimmed and bar end mirrors added

petcocks cleaned and fuel filters / strainers replaced

carbs had been stored dry so no rebuild required, added new float bowl gaskets

starts easily and idles smoothly, clutch feels good and tranny shifts normally

rides well, suspension good, like any old airhead the brakes are uninspiring, sooooo.....plan your stops!

as a result, could use new pads / shoes at some point although they may scuff in with more riding

lighting, switches, turn signals, horn all work as it should, including all dash warning lights

speedo and tach work but odometer is intermittent, so miles are unknown

Cosmetic condition

The bike is a rider, not a show bike, but it is presentable (it won't embarrass you)

frame clean and rust free, no center stand

rims have age-appropriate patina

paint is home-baked but reasonable, a little orange peely (and chipping a little on tank edges)

pinstriping is hand painted and just ok

one sidecover has a repair on edge but not in line of sight

stock seat recently covered and in great shape

Daylong or (Mayer?) touring seat in superb shape and comfortable (one of pics above shows seat on bike)

Krauser bags have a few dents and scuffs but latch well and are solid

fairing has some shelfwear scratches and one repaired crack on headlight surround, seems to be complete

left pipe has an small discolored spot from an old acid spill, right pipe has a few small dings (but pipes solid with nice chrome)

tank has some rubs around and on the roundels from the fairing
