Description Classic Jaguar S-Type 1965 3.4L manual in very sound condition for restoration.

Classic Jaguar S-Type 1965 3.4L manual in very sound condition for restoration.
Due to business expansion, and the need for funds to facilitate this, I am reluctantly selling one of my Jaguars, I am lucky enough to have a decent size Man Cave, and as a result over the years have collected some assorted Jaguars and Land Rovers.
This Jaguar I initially purchased to enable me to restore parts of it to swap onto my wife's S-Type, which is in the last picture next to this one, the reason being I can keep her car on the road for longer periods whilst parts are restored, leading to a happy wife, which then leads to more play time for me.
However, the long term plan was to fully restore this vehicle, okay now to the relevant points.
The Good Points
This car benefits from 4 brand new tyres, it also has a recent Stainless exhaust, the stickers are still attached. The shell is very sound, actually my wife's S-Type is not as solid as this one! all jacking points look sound as does the floors sills inner wings and bulkhead. All lights and horn etc work.
The Bad Points
The interior is rough, the seats are very dry, the door cards, carpets and headlining all need replacement, but all are readily available.
The engine requires a core plug in the block near the Distributor, I did try to replace it but it is still weeping, After cleaning up the fuel pump I got her to start, she ran well but after a few minutes developed a tapping noise from the right hand cam cover so this will need investigation, the oil pressure however was good and prior to starting I replaced the oil and filter plus distributor cap.
The paintwork looks great from a few yards, but up close there is some bubbling on a couple of the door bottoms and around the front bumper area, and general marks over the body, but no holes, I was intending to fully strip her anyway.
From the tax disc it appears the car was last on the road in 2010, but it was parked up since then, as a result the clutch is not functioning but this may be just hydraulics, so I have not tried to drive her. I have owned the car for around 5 months from memory, and as stated am only selling it as a result of business funding being required. Unfortunately there is no history with the car, but I do have the V5 and it is currently sorned.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, either via eBay or via my mobile, 07769 116116.
As stated the vehicle is for restoration so please do not expect to turn up and drive her away, she is located in Ipswich, Suffolk and I can arrange very reasonable delivery if required.
I strongly advise anyone interested to please come and inspect the car before auction end, I have tried to be as descriptive as possible, but better to be sure before bidding. I prefer Bank Transfer or cash. I will not accept bids from overseas without contact first.
This car is for auction, the person who places the highest bid wins it, it is as simple as that, I will not remove early.
Good Luck all, Duncan
