 You are looking at a
very early Type 2 (T3) T25 campervan, it’s got the correct and sought after
1600cc Air-cooled engine.
These vans where
only produced from 1980 and this one was registered in early 81 which makes it
one of the first. It’s been very well looked after throughout its life and is extremely
solid, with excellent front steps that don’t look as if they have ever been
welded or repaired.
The engine was
professionally removed and rebuilt by vw experts Laurie Pettit in late 2014 and
was re-fitted with a full service by kingfisher customs with invoice and
paperwork to prove.
It’s in very good
running order and is a very reliable usable old van. It pulls well and keeps up
with modern traffic no problems. The engine and running gear are great with
that lovely and distinctive sound you only get from the air cooled engines also
the added bonus of getting into all the Air cooled classic VW shows as they
take a dim view on the water-cooled.

It’s very recently
had a quality gas powered warm air heating system fitted which is superb. By
the flick of a button it warms up the rear of the van lovely and is very good
on gas. It’s thermostatically controlled and kicks in and out at whatever temperature
is required. The system alone cost over £600 without fitting. It runs on its
own small gas bottle which lives under the rear seats.
It’s got a separate
leisure battery fitted which lives under the passenger seat. It’s charged when
the engine is running through a separate system and gives hours of power
without the worry of draining the main engine battery.
The inside ceiling
lights are all LED high power but low drain so light up the inside of the van
great and look very smart.
The kitchen has two
large cupboards and a large draw with cutlery etc. The gas twin burner works
well and has a separate grill running on its own power. The burner has its own
gar bottle that lives in the corner of the cupboard.
The bodywork on the camper
is over all very tidy. It’s been Re-Sprayed at some point in the past. I think it’s
originally been white but it’s now midnight blue which it seems to suit, It
does have the odd small dent and scuff as it’s been a well-used van but it’s
very solid and looks overall very good There is a larger dent on the N/s rear
wheel arch and one on the o/s rear corner which I have tried to picture. It’s
not a stunning show car so please don’t think that it is. It’s a tidy usable van.
The interior is
again original and tidy. The front seats are comfortable and look very good, the
rear carpets and woodwork are again very good. It has full curtains and rails
that go right around the van to make it very private at night. The seating
folds down to make a large double bed easily.
To sum up the
overall condition of the van is over all very tidy and usable. It’s not a
stunning show car and could do with bits and pieces doing to tidy it up. It’s
very reliable and usable and will take you anywhere. Please feel free to come
