Description BMW K100 Basic 1983,one of the oldest K's in existence, restoration or Cafe Race

BMW K100 Basic model. Built in June 1983 with Vin 0000252-That's number 252 off the production line!! This bike is believed to be one of the oldest surviving K series bikes. It really needs to be restored not Cafe Raced as it's so rare. All parts are present and the engine is really sweet. The front calipers were removed because the pads had swollen and the bike wouldn't move. The caliper pistons are still free. The discs are in great condition with hardly any wear as you would expect for such low mileage.
The tank had a small hole which I have welded up and primed ready for repainting. The inside of the tank and is now clean and ready for use. I have a fuel pump that will come with the bike but it will need a battery.
I will start the bike for the new owner just to prove the engine is all OK.

The reason I'm selling the bike is that I've just come across a 1984, 3700 mile from new K so I'm restoring that instead. I've got lot's of other projects in the pipeline and realistically,I'll never get round to restoring this old K.
This isn't some worn out pile of scrap,It's just suffered from poor storage.
