L@@K VERY RARE RELIANT SCIMITAR GTC (CONVERTIBLE) MAN/OVERDRIVE LOVELY EXAMPLE For Sale

For sale is my very rare Scimitar GTC (convertible) SE8B. This model was introduced in 1980 costing around £11,360. There were only 442 of these convertibles ever produced plus one prototype. Production ceased in 1986.

This car is number 152, built in 1980 and registered 11th Feb 1981. It is the more desirable manual model with overdrive on 3rd and 4th. Power is supplied by the superb Ford Cologne V6 2792 cc engine, which was so successful in the Capri, Granada and TVR etc.


Since purchase I have had a full professional respray (receipts and pics available) in it's original colour of Ford Olympic Blue and the original Wolfrace Alloys (yes they are stamped 79 (1979) not later copies) refurbished. A new hood was fitted which makes the car look even better. A lot of comments at various classic car events this summer has resulted in other vehicles being booked in to "Furness Restorations" who did the paint job. I also got runner up in it's class at the Dales and Lakes Classic Show.


It comes with both keys, booklets etc. V5 obviously, current MOT to next August 2016 (with no advisories), other MOT's going back to the 90's which show mileage to be correct. It even has bill of sale invoice from John Dangerfield Garages in Bristol (Scimitar dealership) on the 11th June 1981. These cars are going up in value (check prices in classic car mags), they are an excellent alternative to similar 4 seater convertibles such as the Triumph Stag and drive as a modern car with power steering, electric windows etc. As of Q4 2014 the DVLA had only 57 of these cars left on the road with another 117 known on SORN. These cars are quite a rare sight nowadays
