The engine is still in need of another 700 miles to fully run it in! Dyno run printout from July 2013 gave a 73.6 bhp output. Negative camber front end. Recent pads and shoes. (Front brakes are discs). 10 inch alloy wheels. Spare wheel in boot, plus another 4 alloy wheels with winter tread tyres; these are brand new and unused. Two Cibie front spots, in tact and with covers. Leather bonnet strap. All chromed parts are intact; no peeling or blobs of rust coming through. Smart, clean interior with original (black) rear seat still in place. Red needle-cord carpets (which may well be replacements) are clean and in almost as-new condition. Lightly modified with a half roll-cage, Cobra front seats and four-point harnesses. Brand new traditional wood steering wheel. Rally timing equipment has been installed on the dash (passenger side), with a foot-rest for the navigator to use along with a traditional foot-operated headlight main-beam button. Interior fan blower and heater are working. If you wanted to take the car back to original spec, then all of the interior modifications are easily removable. The bodywork is entirely standard.
The Mini has a previously taken part in classic rally events, including; Throckmorton Challenge (finishing second in class), Winter Challenge (classic car rally to Monte Carlo), LeJog (Lands End to John O'Groats), and a trip to the Alps! Good home for this much-loved little car is essential. I purchased her in April 2014 from Former Glory in Perivale, North West London (receipt available), intending to take her out to a classic rallies. Sadly, work commitments have meant she’s not been given the use she deserves. Additionally the loss of proper storage for a 35 year old classic means I have to ratify my collection of vehicles. Both the Monte Carlo style roof-rack and brand new Moltex fleece-lined cover (as shown in the photos) are included with the sale. The cover can be used outdoors or indoors. There are also two plastic carrier bags of various spares; filters, plugs, new distributor cap and other bits-and-bobs. I will also throw in a zip sided indoor soft cover which I currently have, but not used in a long time.
Overall, this is a substantial package being offered. The car is currently in the Chichester area of West Sussex. Please note, winning bidder to pay £250 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction, otherwise the car will be offered to the next highest bidder. Buyer collects; remaining balance cash on collection, please. The reserve price is well below what I paid for the car. If you have any questions, please ask. Serious/genuine enquiries only, please.
