Description 1952 Douglas T35 MKV 350cc, good runner, matching eng / frame/ reg NO RESERVE

1952 Douglas MKV, excellent runner, unrestored, matching numbers
Here is a very good unrestored example of one of the most famous and historic names in British bikes - Douglas.
Famed and highly regarded for their early horizontally opposed machines from around the period of the First World War. (from which the familiar BMW layout was copied). The Bristol based firm produced bikes until 1957.
This MKV is in extremely original condition. It retains its original matching engine & frame and original registration mark.
The bike starts easily and sounds great mechinically with no strange noises and no smoke.
It ticks over nicely too once warmed up , the carbs seem to be well balanced and in good order.
The bike rides well, gears are all ok, clutch good, brakes decent. The Smith’s 80mph chronometric speedometer is working OK. The dynamo is charging  and a new 6volt battery is hidden inside the old black battery casing.
The bike comes with V5C registration certificate. Registration number UEV 32 is the transferable original. Date of registration is 13th March 1952.
Frame number is 11281/5B, engine number is 11281/5 these numbers match the V5C doc.
The bike is pre 1960 MOT exempt and is registered for Historic Vehicle Class (free) road tax.
There are some old MOTs and tax discs which suggest the bike was in regular use all through the 1990’s up until 2003. There is a photocopy of the old log book and also a photocopied spares list & manual. included.
Current recorded mileage of 36,600 could well be genuine.
Cosmetically the bike is old looking! I don’t think it’s ever been restored. The paint on the frame is old and chipped, flaked in places. It has been touched up here & there.
Front rim is not too bad but the chrome is well past its best! Spokes are clean & rust free. Front tyre is decent looking Avon ribbed Speedmaster.
Rear rim is very poor chrome wise although the spokes and nipples look good and clean. Rear tyre is Avon MKII Speedmaster hardly worn but old.
There is no fin damage on the engine and it appears to be nice & oil tight.
The petrol tank has good chrome and the paint on the tank looks OK, I suspect it may have been repainted at some time.
The seat is OK but has a small split. The exhaust is well serviceable but not pretty chrome anymore!
The headlamp shell has been crudely brush painted.
This is a good opportunity to own a slightly unusual British bike, nice & original in excellent running order but possibly in need of a bit of tidying here and there or even full cosmetic restoration to make really nice!
Don’t miss this Classic Bristolian machine.
