Description Yamaha XS1100

This is a fully restored Yamaha XS1100 from 1980. It will be sold with a full year's MoT and has done 37,000 miles which I am certain is a true mileage. This is a genuine European F model, as sold by Yamaha in Europe, NOT an import from the USA (they vary significantly from European models and are not as highly sought after or valued). Any afficianado of these bikes will know that from the pix.

This bike is in truly exceptional condition and I sincerely doubt that anyone who wants one of these will find one better. The bike has no faults whatsoever. The engine starts first time, immediately, and sounds lovely. The engine performs perfectly with no misfires, popping, banging, stuttering or hesitation. The restored electrical system has no faults and all switchgear, gauges, lights, charging system and so on have been completely stripped, renovated and restored with new decals. They function perfectly. The stainless steel replica exhaust system sounds exactly like the original and is a baffled system, with balance silencer boxes underneath, not just a noisy straight through pipe with wadding. The bends and angles of the headers are exactly as OEM and the headers are also parallel to each other as they should be, and not a W like many after-market systems

Engine number and frame number are identical. Original key and locks, including steering lock on headstock, side panel lock, helmet lock and fuel cap

Several thousand pounds spent on a full restoration of this bike over the last 12 months. Every single part has been cleaned and restored, or replaced with new or NOS. The bike has no rust or corrosion whatsoever, of course. It looks better than it would have when leaving the showroom and is accurate in every detail of the rebuild, right down to replica decals. In many respects it is better than when new, with upgraded igntion system, improved fuse board, automatic camchain tensioner and stainless steel exhaust. Every single ferrous fastener has been replaced with stainless. Other ferrous parts have been bright zinc-plated.
