Yamaha XS650 For Sale
Description Yamaha XS650
I am selling my beautiful 1977 Yamaha XS650D, the "D" model is the last of the Classic XS650's before going to the Special versions. It is a US Import and is currently on Club Rego and hence sold as Unregistered. It is a Numbers matching bike which is pretty much original condition with original Bountiful Blue color, it has only had repairs done to make it registrable and safe. I have fitted twin Disc's which was an option in the day, I have also installed Braided lines to make it stop well. The paint is in original condition and not modified in any way, it is just in good condition and very presentable as can be seen in the pictures. I have fitted a new chain, front brake pads, new wiring loom, new swing arm bushes and new clutch. It also has new rear shocks and Chain guard.
It has a small dent in the tank which can be seen in the pictures, also some marks and degradation of the original transfers, also seen in the pictures. The Chrome is in good condition and only needs a polish from time to time. The exhaust is original and in good condition, all electrics are working, the engine runs well but uses a little oil which it typical for this year of bike with no smoke. The Gearbox shifts smoothly but has the typical XS650 hard to find neutral issue, I find you give the engine a rev whilst moving to neutral and it works just fine.
In short this bike is a great original bike that is fun to ride and gets lots of looks, the engine has never been rebuilt and runs smoothly. I would however recommend a new battery, I have owned the bike for 4 years, unfortunately, the bike has been sitting around unridden and hence why I am selling her. It's not a show winner, its an old bike that is in good condition. If you want an easy resto project, this would be the one to do or register and just ride it as it is.
The bike is sold as is where is, I am happy to assist if you arrange a carrier to collect her but won't ship. I have tried my best to give an honest description and am happy to take more pictures, I would also recommend an inspection for your own piece of mind. I won't entertain text messages but all EBay questions will be answered. Payment is to be made by Direct Deposit or Cash on Pickup, Bank Details details will be given to the winner of the Auction. PayPal is not recommended but accepted although all fee's will need to be paid for by the purchaser.
