Norton : Roadster/JPN For Sale
Description Norton : Roadster/JPN
I'm the second owner. Original owner ( with good intentions), bought it to race in the "Brimaco Racing Series" (see decals on fairing in photo), but with absolutely no aptitude for mechanics, he was soon a very unhappy camper. My '73 750 Commando had been stolen 2 years earlier, so I gladly took it off his hands.., I drove it a year and then due to circumstances, took it apart completely and put it in boxes........ for 30 years!!! Rebuilt (complete engine re-build, electronic ignition, carbs, complete Isolastic Anti-Vibration System, front fork seals, etc. etc.) as a roadster for 2-up riding, but it is a genuine JPN....one of nine sold in Canada that year. The serial number plate is riveted to the frame under the seat, confirming it's the real thing. All other Nortons had the plate riveted to the steering head behind the headlight. Engine and frame numbers match Norton Factory Records. I corresponded with them in 1970...and still have the letter. Norton Workshop Manual, and some other literature. JPN fiberglass fairing, seat, tank cover (and gas tank, which is a roadster tank cut at the rear and an addition welded on for more fuel capacity) clip-ons, rear set aluminum footpegs and gear shift, all included in price. What's missing are the headlights and small mirrors, which burns me to no extent. But I've moved several times in 30 years so.......................... Method of payment to be figured out later, but the cash has to be there before it goes anywhere!!! Shipping is your responsibility, but I'll help any way I can...............It's a great bike, First Production Café Racer ever, although Ducati says they did it first........the fact is they came out within a month of each other..........................Good Luck!!
