1952 Harley-Davidson Other For Sale
Description 1952 Harley-Davidson Other
Here is a real survivor...1952 K Model that was parked in 1962 by the original owner. I purchased it from a family member. The bike had been painted before it was parked (originally red) It has an aftermarket rear fender and a genuine Harley Hummer front fender on original brackets. I added these as the originals had been cut (poorly) and chromed (which was bad). I painted them to match the old gas tank paint. The tank emblems are replacement Harley parts. Other than these things this is complete & original bike. No broken fins or mechanical damage that I can see. Engine turns freely and has compression. Spark advance and throttle cable move fine. Brakes work as well as does the the clutch operation. The original battery is even still there. Accessory buddy seat and front crash bar also on the bike. Even the original plastic rear shock absorber covers are still there & in good shape with the factory black electrical tape on the bottoms. The 2 original Harley Keys are included & both switch's work fine. I have not tried to start it but looks like a carburetor cleaning and a new battery and it should be good to go (probably would need a thorough going through to replace seals and gaskets). The original old Goodyear's hold air & still look pretty good but would be too old to trust. This bike was stored in the owners basement from 1962 until 1982 when it was moved to his nephews basement until 2 years ago when I bought it. It has always been in a climate controlled space. I had planned on restoring this one but I have too many other projects on the go. Might be wrong to restore one that has survived in this original condition for so long.
