Description Norton Commando 850 1975 MK 3 Electric Start

I am selling my MK 3 Commando. It is an all matching numbers low mileage motorcycle.

The bike has only ever travelled 7300 miles from the factory, and is in very good condition.
The only serious blemishes are some speckling on top of the headlight, and the paint also has some areas where it is less than perfect (I have provided close ups of these areas). Otherwise it is in great shape for a 40 year old motorcycle.
I was considering having the bike painted before selling, but original condition bikes are becoming extremely rare, and despite some wear and tear as might be expected on a bike of this vintage, a new owner may well prefer not to have it tarted up like some do.

Happily, the wheels are blemish free, and the spoke ends look like the day they were fitted, no discolouration at all.

There are no oil leaks that I have noticed. Difficult to be sure, but there is no evidence of any major disassembly ever. But hard to be totally certain.

Electric starter works perfectly, hot or cold. The bike always starts instantly. It runs evenly, idles solidly. I have added a short video of a dead cold start (although it was mid 20s).

Original amals in perfect condition, I checked the slides, and they are like new.

There is no damage to the motorcycle, and as far as I can tell, it has never been down in 40 years.

I have owned quite a few commandos, and this one is a real beauty in my eyes, as it is such an honest bike. A new owner might want to paint it, but it certainly would be fine to ride exactly as it presents now. If there is no interest, then I will find a place to store and keep it.

The benefits of a low mileage bike are obviously many. The bike is almost certainly on std bore and crank, likely no wear on gears and shafts, clutch shell and hub is like new, rear sprocket has no slop where it engages, fork sliders not worn out and the list could go on for a long time.
You can polish and aerosol a bike all you like, but it will never turn back the wear from miles travelled. There may be some service requirements for a new owner, I am not in any way trying to claim this bike is restored or refurbished, it is a close to original completely unrestored motorcycle. It does ride well currently, although the tyres, which have good tread, do look a little older.

I am offering this bike at a slightly lower price point, despite it being so low mileage, and such overall good condition, with only a couple of easily corrected faults.
