1983 Harley-Davidson FXR For Sale
Description 1983 Harley-Davidson FXR
1983 Harley Davidson FXR - Shovel Head – 5 speed – Original
The 1983 FXR offered
a rubber-mounted engine, chain drive and a five-speed transmission, as opposed
to the solid mounting and four-speed transmission of the original FX chassis.
The following Dyna series design was changed to offer only two
rubber mounts resulting in poorer vibration control, but speedier
production. Therefore the FXR is considered to be superior in
acceleration, vibration control and handling to the models both before and
after it. This was basically Harley Davidson’s answer to intense
competition to Japanese manufacturers at the time.
***speedometer was replaced so the mileage showing is not accurate***
